Jane Downer - baroque oboe & recorder
Kim Worley - baroque cello
In pieces of Fantasy and Invention, three composers from the Baroque era fully exploit the technical and expressive capabilities of solo instruments including J S Bach’s profound Suite in G major for unaccompanied cello. Telemann’s Fantasias demonstrate unrestrained imagination and ingenuity with their fugal and two-voiced writing. Bellinzani’s Variations on La Folia are a set of inventive and brilliant renditions on the theme.
