Círculos is the new programme created by the dynamic duo of Anna Stegmann (recorders) and Jorge Jiménez (vielle and violin). This unusual pairing masterfully blends the rich, expressive depth of the violin with the colourful, resonant timbre of the recorder, creating a captivating musical experience that promises to intrigue and inspire.

Central to this concert is Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Tierkreis, a compelling series of 12 short character pieces inspired by the Zodiac. Each composition encapsulates the essence of its celestial counterpart, inviting listeners on a captivating musical journey through the cosmos.

The programme interweaves arrangements of Bach’s intricate Inventions, Chick Corea’s playful Children’s Songs, circular medieval songs, and the musicians’ own improvisations. Each set reflects universal themes of connection and transformation, mirroring the cyclical nature of the zodiac itself.

Completing this musical tapestry are original soundscapes by Jorge Jiménez, composed especially for this project. These works exemplify a dynamic interplay of tradition and innovation, allowing the audience to engage with a realm where the familiar seamlessly meets the extraordinary.
