This concert is a celebration of language, culture and landscape.
In a musical exploration spanning two-and-a-quarter centuries, contemporary Australian chamber music is interlaced with works by two great figures of the German classical music canon. Both of the new works were premiered in 2023 and commissioned especially for and about the Barossa Valley.
Beethoven - trio in Bflat major op 11 (1798) for clarinet, cello and piano
David John Lang - "Gomersal: An Appreciation" (2023) for cello and piano
Max Reger - selected movements from Suite for Solo Viola op. 131d (1916)
Robert Davidson - "Barossa Deutsch" for clarinet, viola, piano and audio track (2023)
