Telemann’s short solo Fantasias are pieces of unrestrained imagination and ingenuity containing cleverly concealed fugues, broad and challenging leaps for contrapuntal effect, and folk dance. Bellinzani’s Variations on La Folia are a set of inventive and brilliant renditions on the theme.
