Bella Partita // Austral Harmony
Music from J S Bach beautiful partitas - a suite for solo keyboard, and an assemblage of movements adapted for recorder from Bach’s works for various solo instruments, each defined by distinctive rhythmic motifs, and imparting a gentle fluidity. His remarkable Sonata BWV 1030 is composed for obbligato harpsichord and in this reconstruction in G minor, baroque oboe takes the melody line.
Suite Assortment // Austral Harmony
A mix of dances from solo works by J S Bach originally for flute and violin transposed agreeably into F major to suit the recorder’s range, and dance movements from one of his profound and extraordinary Suites for unaccompanied cello. Bellinzani’s Variations on La Folia are a set of inventive and brilliant renditions on the theme.
