Kegelstatt Ensemble perform works from Erwin Schulhoff’s “Werkstatt der Zeit” concert series alongside an improvisation and recent work by Golijov. Schulhoff fought in trench warfare and felt strongly that late Romantic music no longer spoke to the times in which they were living. Consequently they championed new “expression-ist” music.
